Isaiah Collier, an 18-year-old point guard from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, has yet to play for the USC Trojans. However, ESPN projected him to go fourth overall to the Indiana Pacers nex year. The Georgia native is a consensus top-10 pick for the 2024 NBA draft, and a lot of people think he will go in the top five.
Collier was named the Prep Naismith Prep Player of the Year in 2023. In addition, he was also a McDonald’s All-American and was named Georgia’s Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year.
“He has a tremendous feel and IQ for the game to go with elite vision and dynamic passing ability. Collier is an elite playmaker that can see a play before it happens as the game moves at a slower pace than many of his peers. He is also a top tier competitor that brings it every single time he steps on the floor. The one area in his game that has long held him back is his jumper,” wrote 247Sports analyst Travis Branham.
For the season, Collier averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals while shooting 52 percent from inside the arc, 38 percent from 3-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line. He tallied a game-high 22 points and seven assists in the state title win.
During his four years at Wheeler, the program went 102-23 with state titles in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
