The Brooklyn Nets, like almost every other team in the NBA, are interested in the possibility of trading for Portland Trail Blazers superstar guard Damian Lillard. While Brooklyn seems to be open to trading for Lillard, they have made it clear that they will only trade so much for him.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Nets wing Mikal Bridges is “not for sale” in any trade for Lillard. While Brooklyn has always indicated their interest in trading for Lillard so that they can make themselves more competitive in the Eastern Conference seemingly overnight, it’s clear that the Nets are willing to part with anyone and anything, except for Bridges.
Bridges came to Brooklyn as a result of the Kevin Durant trade and even though most around the league would agree that Lillard is a better player than Bridges right now, it seems that the Nets may have found something special in Bridges. The former Villanova Wildcat went from averaging 17.2 points per game during his 56 games with the Phoenix Suns in 2022-23 to averaging 26.1 points per game on 47.5% shooting from the field and 37.6% from three-point land in 27 games with the Nets.
There are those in the NBA space who believe that Bridges could be an All-Star next season because of the potential that he showed on the offensive end last season. Bridges is held in high regard by the Brooklyn organization and rightfully so.
