The Brooklyn Nets have made some significant moves this offseason in an attempt to make themselves as competitive as possible for years to come. Even though they had one person in mind as the perfect player to trade, and he wants to go elsewhere, the Nets may be able to get something out of it after all.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, Brooklyn is open to receiving Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro as the result of being the third team in a trade where Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard goes to the Heat. Begley reported on Saturday that the Nets were among the teams contacted to be the third team in any potential Lillard-to-Miami deal.

While Brooklyn would rather be getting Lillard in a trade, there were multiple reports over the weekend that Lillard essentially only wants to play for the Heat. So, it seems that Brooklyn’s next-best option is to be the third team in a potential Lillard trade and receive and possibly draft picks as well.
