Former Vol Yan Gomes went 1-for-4 and scored one run for Chicago.
Gomes played for Tennessee from 2007-08 before transferring to Barry University.
Gomes has recorded a .265 batting average, seven home runs, 24 RBIs, 44 hits, three doubles and one stolen base in 2023.
He won the World Series with Washington in 2019. The former Vol was an American League All-Star with Cleveland in 2018 and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2014.
