After a four-game intrasquad series played at the National Training Complex, Aggie outfielder Jace LaViolette was selected as one of the official 31 players representing the Team USA Squad. During the series, Jace went 6-16 at the plate, knocked in a few RBI, and is the first Aggie to make the team since Asa Lacy in 2019.
Team USA will take on Chinese Taipei and Japan in a five-game series from June 30 to July 12 across multiple locations. CNT manager Larry Lee gave a few thoughts on the team and the upcoming series:
“After the most talented and competitive Training Camp, the staff completed a grueling selection process to get to the final roster today, “CNT manager Larry Lee said. “Our roster is full of extremely talented and capable baseball players, and we are focused on representing the United States well in international competition. We are looking forward to getting our series against Chinese Taipei started tomorrow night in Cary.”
Jace has been on fire this summer, hitting two-run home runs in the first two games. His solid showing during the tryout has translated well, and it’s great to see him hitting lasers for Team USA. You can check it yourself below how Jace and his team have started on this mini-win streak of two.
