Sam Howell receives praise on Good Morning Football

Former Tar Heel Sam Howell receives praise on Good Morning Football.

Former UNC quarterback [autotag]Sam Howell[/autotag] received praise from teammate offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas on good morning football.

Howell is poised to start this upcoming season for the Washington Commanders, and leadership was displayed on the two-year quarterback in OTA’s, according to Lucas. Howell is known for their strong arm and ability to make a play with his feet.

The former Tar Heel got a chance last season to prove he belongs as he would start the final game of the regular season for Washington beating the Dallas Cowboys 26-6. Howell shined, completing 11 of 19 passes for 169 passing yards and one touchdown. He also showed his mobility, rushing for 35 yards and a touchdown.

Lucas was asked why Howell was the right quarterback for the Commanders, and his answer was why he strived at UNC.

Howell can be considered a draft-day steal for Washington, after falling to the fifth round.
