The folks over at Touchdown Wire have once again put out their top pass rushers from every gap. It’s an impressive list and a ton of work goes into it. In the past, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been very well represented on this list.
But this year, the Steelers were completely shut out. In the past, Pittsburgh has seen defensive tackle Cam Heyward as the best two-technique but this year that honor went to New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
In 2021, Stephon Tuitt was selected as the best four-technique and on this list, it is the recently-retired J.J. Watt. Even EDGE T.J. Watt got bumped from being the top wide-nine rusher after an injury-riddled season. That distinction went instead to San Francisco 49ers EDGE Nick Bosa.
Hopefully, the Steelers pass rush can get back on track in 2023. The absence of Watt really struck a blow to the entire Steelers defense.
