Since Mack Brown has returned for his second stint as head coach of the UNC football program, they have reached a bowl game in all four years.
However, UNC is 1-3 in those games including a loss in the Orange Bowl a few years back. The goal for UNC is not only to get to a big bowl game but win it.
As we get ready for the 2023 season, North Carolina continues to put in the work to get better and they are projected to be anywhere from third to fifth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. That should qualify them for a bowl game and Athlon Sports has them in an intriguing matchup.
In the latest bowl projections from Athlon Sports, they have UNC matched up against Ole Miss in the Gator Bowl. That game is set to take place on December 29th and will take place in Jacksonville.
Like North Carolina, Ole Miss has an intriguing quarterback in former USC commit Jaxson Dart. And with Maye likely not playing in this bowl game, UNC could get an early look at the future of the position for this game.
