After a magical run to the 2023 NCAA tournament’s national championship game, fans can’t get enough of Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team.
Iowa fans invaded Dallas, Texas, and the American Airlines Center to end March and to begin April. It nearly ended with a national championship. Instead, LSU had other ideas.
Along the way though, Caitlin Clark and Iowa wowed viewing audiences and packed out arenas. Thanks to Clark and the Hawkeyes, the national championship game was the most-viewed women’s college basketball game of all time.
Given the surefire ratings draw, Iowa and fellow Final Four participant Virginia Tech are set to face one another in a showcase event. The inaugural Ally Tipoff featuring the Hawkeyes and Hokies was announced in early June. The two will battle in Charlotte from inside the Spectrum Center on Nov. 9.
That’s one piece of the 2023-24 Iowa women’s basketball schedule that has been revealed.
Another nugget of the Hawkeyes’ schedule has surfaced. Per Hawkeye Report‘s Kyle Huesmann of the On3 network, Iowa and Caitlin Clark will host Drake inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Nov. 19.

It’s a rematch of what was a fantastic game a season ago. Iowa topped Drake in overtime, 92-86, in front of a sellout crowd inside the Knapp Center in Des Moines. Monika Czinano led the way for Iowa with 36 points and 11 rebounds, while Clark added 28 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Iowa leads the all-time series against Drake, 29-25, and has won nine out of the past 10.
Here’s the rest of what we know about Iowa’s 2023-24 schedule so far. In the nonconference, the Hawkeyes will open the season versus Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 6, visit Northern Iowa on Nov. 12, host Kansas State on Nov. 16, take part in the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. from Nov. 24-26, host Bowling Green on Dec. 2, and travel to face Cleveland State in Des Moines on Dec. 16.
The Big Ten also recently revealed each team’s conference opponents. Iowa will host Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State and the Hawkeyes will visit Maryland, Northwestern, Purdue and Rutgers. The Hawkeyes will both host and visit Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska and Ohio State.
