Another piece of Florida’s 2023-24 men’s basketball schedule was revealed on Wednesday as the University Athletic Association announced Wake Forest as the Gators’ Nov. 29 opponent in the ACC-SEC Challenge.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. EDT in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It will be one of at least three ACC battles Florida faces over the season, with Virginia scheduled on Nov. 10 and the annual Florida State game, which doesn’t have a date or time yet.
This will be the 13th matchup between Florida and Wake Forest since 1936. The last meeting between the two was during the 2014 Orange Bowl Classic. Florida won, 63-50, but that was almost a decade ago. The Gators’ last true road game against the Demon Deacons came in 1994, an 81-70 win under Lon Kruger.
The Southeastern Conference recently revealed the opponents and home-away designations for Florida’s 2023-24 SEC schedule. The Gators will play home and away against Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt, while hosting Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State.
The road games will be Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M. No dates have been given for the SEC schedule, though.
