Former Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett drowned this week in Florida, according to reports. Condolences and memories immediately came pouring in for the Razorbacks legend.
Mallett played just two seasons at Arkansas, but his mark was indelible. The 2009 and 2010 seasons were two of the best for the Hogs in the century and Mallett still owns the school record for single-season touchdown passes and single-season yards passing.
He transferred to Arkansas after one season at Michigan and immediately turned the Razorbacks into contenders. After dominating the college game, Mallett played six seasons in the NFL. Most recently, he was the head coach of White Hall High School in southeast Arkansas.
Mallett will always be remembered as an Arkansas icon.
