The brunt of the offseason is in the books and training camp is still off on the horizon. Join us in the NFL’s dead zone with a player-by-player review of the Jaguars roster ahead of the 2023 season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t do much of anything to address the cornerback position during the offseason. Despite cutting ties with Shaquill Griffin to save cap space, the only additions at the position were late-round draft picks and undrafted free agents.
Divaad Wilson is one of those newcomers with hopes of earning a spot on a roster that could use a surprise contributor at cornerback.
Wilson began his collegiate career in the Georgia Bulldogs secondary before transferring to Central Florida where he became a leader in the Knights secondary. In Jacksonville, he’ll battle several young players for a permanent spot in the Jaguars secondary.
Contract (2023): $750,000 base salary, $2,500 prorated signing bonus, $752,500 cap hit.
Acquired: Jaguars signed Wilson as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2023.

Quote: “When he’s out there, you know he’s out there. He has a passion for the game. Sometimes you’ve got to tell him he’s talking too much. …But it’s a fun deal when I say that. I’m glad we’ve got him.” – UCF defensive coordinator Travis Williams on Wilson
