Tar Heels land in four-star athletes top 5

The UNC football program made the top five for a four-star athlete in the 2024 class.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are still in the race for a top recruiting target in the 2024 class as the recruitment could be coming to an end soon.

Four-star athlete Jonathan Paylor cut his list of 25 offers down to a top five on Tuesday. He announced he will be focusing on North Carolina, South Carolina, NC State, Penn State, and Maryland moving forward in his recruitment.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Paylor is the top recruiting target on North Carolina’s board for the 2024 class. He’s a Burlington,North Carolina native that has become a priority for the Tar Heels and would be a big get for Mack Brown and his staff.

However, the Tar Heels appear to be trending in the wrong direction.

The 247Sports crystal ball currently favors the Gamecocks after Paylor took a visit to Columbia over the weekend. After that visit, national recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong logged his prediction for the Gamecocks.
