The Colorado Buffaloes alumni will be returning to The Basketball Tournament this summer, and Evan Battey is one of a handful of recognizable names featured on the roster.
The entire bracket was released and consists of 64 different teams across a handful of cities. For the Buffs, they begin with a matchup on July 26 against Mackey Men, a group of former Purdue players, as reported by Pat Rooney of Buff Zone.
CU director of player development Zach Ruebesam, who is coaching the group, revealed the impact Battey has had on the roster, and now he admits the excitement of the team making its anticipated return to the TBT:
“We’re extremely excited to be in the tournament again…All the hard work and planning stuff that we’ve done up to this point has paid off and now is kind of where the fun part happens of planning to get the guys on campus preparing for the game and trying to go out and do something together.”
The winner receives a $1 million prize, and the Buffs have quite a few NBA or G League names in the field, including George King.
All the TBT games will be featured on ESPN, so Buffs fans can get a look at the return of the team.
