The Colorado Buffaloes are set for a brand new era with Deion Sanders as the head football coach. Whether the big turnover works or not remains to be seen, but the hype has returned in Boulder once again.
Many have wondered whether Coach Prime is headed for a promotion if things go well or if he has his eyes set on the NFL. However, he doesn’t have any ambition to coach in the league, per Bri Amaranthus of Sports Illustrated.
“I don’t have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL… “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”
Well, there you have it. Moreover, Coach Prime isn’t even thinking about becoming an assistant, either.
“I’m not an assistant coach. That is not me,” said Sanders, 55. “I am a head coach … I don’t settle for mediocrity whatsoever.”
Deion Sanders has made plenty of headlines since coming to Colorado, and the NFL scenario is out of the picture, at least with these latest comments, despite him having a tremendous career in the league.
