The Cincinnati Reds have taken the city by storm at a time the Cincinnati Bengals sit on a brief summer break before training camp.
A stunning 11-game winning streak for those Reds hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Bengals though, with quarterback Joe Burrow even pointing out the incredible rise of Elly De La Cruz.
Bengals wideout Trenton Irwin recently got in on this action too, throwing out the first pitch on Wednesday before the team’s 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies.
The Bengals won their final eight games of the regular season last year, FC Cincinnati has won nine straight and now the Reds have won 11 in a row — making it sure feel like the beginning of a new era for the city.
Here are a few clips from Irwin’s trip to the mound:

WR Trenton Irwin just told me he’s never played baseball in his life: “Well maybe PE” 😂
Making sure he sets the expectations as low as possible for today’s first pitch! #Bengals #Reds pic.twitter.com/2gfiwHuxt6
