Grant Williams’ time in Boston will reportedly end with a trade for Kristaps Porzingis

A Grant Williams sign-and-trade is still a possibility in the wake of a potential Porzingis deal, per MassLive.

The completion of the rumored three-team Boston Celtics trade with the Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards for Kristaps Porzingis likely spells the end of the Grant Williams era for the Celtics, according to new reporting from the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach.

The deal would send out veteran point guard Malcolm Brogdon and recuperating swingman Danilo Gallinari for Porzingis. The Wizards big man would join Al Horford and Robert Williams III as the heavy-minutes big men with Luke Kornet and Mike Muscala providing depth off the bench.

According to MassLive’s Brian Robb, a “Grant Williams sign-and-trade is still a possibility in the wake of a potential Porzingis deal” if the Celtics decide to “keep their options open with him as a restricted free agent with a qualifying offer next week.”
