The Cincinnati Bengals understandably are receiving a decent amount of hype ahead of the 2023 NFL season. Besides having one of the premier quarterbacks Joe Burrow, the Bengals have one of the most skilled playmakers in the league in WR Ja’Marr Chase.

When speaking about contenders in the NFL, the Bengals have the 4th-best odds (+900) to win the Super Bowl — behind the Kansas City Chiefs (+650), the Philadelphia Eagles (+700) and the Buffalo Bills (+800). Cincinnati is favored to win the AFC North (+120) and Burrow is tied with QB Patrick Mahomes for the best odds (+650) to win the NFL MVP award.

NFL Offensive Player of the Year best bet

WR Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals (+1200)

Since being selected by the Bengals with the 5th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of LSU, Chase has quickly become one of the league’s best wide receivers. In each of his first 2 seasons in Cincinnati, Chase has eclipsed 80-plus receptions, 1,045-plus receiving yards and 9-plus receiving touchdowns despite missing 5 games in 2022.

After commanding 128 targets as a rookie in 2021, the talented wideout would record 134 targets last season. Chase is the clear go-to target for Burrow, and if he played all 17 games, he was on pace for 190 targets in 2022.

The LSU product logged 10 or more targets in 9 of his 12 games last season despite playing alongside WRs Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. The Bengals tallied the 7th-most passing attempts (610) in 2022 and they could throw even more in 2023.

It was Jefferson who won the NFL’s OPOY award a season ago for the Vikings with 128 receptions, 1,809 yards and 8 touchdowns on 184 targets. Assuming that Chase remains healthy, we could see a potentially historic campaign from him in 2023 as he remains Burrow’s No. 1 option.
