The Brooklyn Nets have a lot to look forward this summer as they try to make the necessary moves to make themselves a better team for the 2023-24 season and beyond. With that, it looks like the organization and its fans can look forward to watching forward Cam Johnson play for Team USA this summer.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday, Johnson has committed to represent his country in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Johnson will be joining Brooklyn teammate Mikal Bridges in the tournament as the “twins” and the rest of the roster try to bring home gold.
Johnson will be a busy man this summer as he is a restricted free-agent which means that the Nets can match any contract offer that he gets from another team vying for his services. It will be interesting to see if Johnson is still a Brooklyn Net by the time the 2023 FIBA World Cup comes around towards the end of August.
Brooklyn Nets F Cam Johnson has committed to play for Team USA's FIBA World Cup team this summer in the Philippines, sources tell ESPN. He’ll join Nets teammate Mikal Bridges on USA Basketball’s developing plans for a 12-man roster.
