The Kansas City Chiefs are back on the football field Tuesday to start mandatory minicamp. The focus is to prepare for the rapidly approaching 2023 season and defend their Super Bowl title.

Travis Kelce is ready to add to his impressive career stats this upcoming year, entering minicamp. Kelce is fresh from his first pitch redemption on Monday night during the Kansas City Royals’ “Chiefs Night.” He reflected on the bounce-back performance and nearly created another viral mishap while speaking with reporters after Tuesday’s practice.

“I don’t know if y’all saw, but I slipped.” Said Kelce, “I got lucky I didn’t fall on my tail and go viral again for the wrong reasons.”

Kelce delivered the pitch effectively before the start of the Royals’ matchup against the Cincinnati Reds. He elaborated on the almost mishap and apologized to his hometown again for April’s performance.

“But yeah, shout out to Bobby (Witt Jr.) for kind of painting that corner for me a little bit, put it over the plate,” Kelce said. “So thanks for that. Thanks to the Royals for letting me get a second chance, and I’m sorry, Cleveland. I’m; literally, I’m so embarrassed to come back home now.”

Kelce can now safely focus his attention on the upcoming golf matchup at the end of the month and training for a new football season.
