Five Cardinals on the side with injuries at 1st practice of mandatory minicamp

The Cardinals had a few players on the side working during the first practice of minicamp.

The Arizona Cardinals held their first practice of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. The big news was the fact that safety Budda Baker was not on the field, as he works through a contract dispute. He was not the only player who did not practice, though.

According to multiple reporters in attendance of the open part of Tuesday’s practice, five players were on the field but working out on the side — quarterbacks Kyler Murray and David Blough, receiver Marquise Brown, tight end Zach Ertz and linebacker Kyzir White.

They are all dealing with some sort of injury.

Murray and Ertz are recovering from torn ACLs. Brown was held out with a foot issue, but it was more precautionary because he has had foot problems.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters he is more concerned about having players ready for training camp at the end of next month.
