Joey Koslowski is trying to rally support to help fulfill a dream for his 12-year old son Joseph, who is battling Castleman disease.
Koslowski is a former wrestling coach in New Jersey with stops that include Spotswood and Red Bank Catholic. He is a frequent poster on Rutgers athletic message boards and keeps a thread entitled ‘Joseph’s Journey’ on The Knight Report, a Rivals affiliate about his son’s progress with treatments for the rare disease.
Koslowski is attempting to raise money for his son to fulfill his request during chemotherapy treatments (CHOP treatments) for a backyard basketball court.
Here is the post from the GoFundMe page, which was started this week, detailing why there is a need to raise funds to fulfill this dream:
“Hi, I am Joseph’s Dad. When Joey was going through Chop Treatments Weasked Joseph what he wanted. He told us he wanted a basketball Court. So we refinanced our house to get the court that he wanted.“We picked a guy that I have known for a long time and did previous work for us. He came down measured everything out and put stone down. Well after 3 years nothing has been done. It’s not the greatest site to look out your door and see such an eyesore We paid everything straight out thinking there was no way anyone would do this to Joey, Especially with everything he has been through. If anyone wants to help out we appreciate it. We just want Joey’s Dream to come true.”
“Castleman disease is a rare disorder that involves an overgrowth of cells in your body’s lymph nodes. The most common form of the disorder affects a single lymph node, usually in the chest or abdomen. This form is called unicentric Castleman disease.”Multicentric Castleman disease, or MCD, affects multiple lymph nodes throughout the body.”
