USC is looking far into the future. Recruiting analysts know that 2026 California-based recruit Caleb Tafua is one of the best tight ends and edge rushers in the state. He has been offered by USC.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound pass catcher has also picked up offers from Cal, Oregon State, Arizona, Utah and Colorado State, with many more to come.
USC has made 30 offers in the 2026 class, a recruiting class that could put the Trojans back in the top 10 or even the top five in the near future.
Tafua plays two positions, so for a prospect who won’t play college football for any of the next three years, there is plenty of time to consider which position — and which side of the ball — might fit the best. It’s not as though a decision has to be made now, or even next year. Tafua will get time and space in which to evolve and make the decisions which work best for him.
