Report: Diamond Hogs pick up former Texas Tech starting catcher

Hudson White was a Freshman All-American and an Honorable Mention All-Big 12 hitter.

Arkansas appears to have its next starting catcher.

Former Texas Tech backstop Hudson White will transfer to play for the Razorbacks in 2024, according to Future Star Series’ Joe Doyle.

White hit for a .296 average with a .397 on-base percentage and slugged .550 for the Red Raiders last year en route to Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors. He will have two seasons of eligibility left at Arkansas.

The Razorbacks primarliy used Parker Rowland as the team’s starting catcher this season after he transferred in from Eastern Oklahoma State College. He hit .182 with two home runs in 42 starts. His back-up, Hudson Polk, hit .190 with two homers in 19 starts.

White was a Freshman All-American and the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2022. That season he hit .260 with six home runs and 40 RBI.
