Around the NBA: Nikola Jokic registers historic triple-double on way to Nuggets’ win in Game 3 vs. Heat

Nikola Jokic registered a historic triple-double performance on the way to the Nuggets taking a 2-1 lead over the Heat in the NBA Finals.

Nikola Jokic’s magical postseason run continued on Wednesday night. With the NBA Finals tied at 1-1 heading into Game 3 in South Beach, the two-time Most Valuable Player took over to give the Nuggets the advantage on the road.

On the way to the Nuggets’ crucial 109-94 win over the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the NBA championship series, Jokic became the first player in NBA history to record a 30-point, 20-rebound, 10-assist game in the NBA Finals.

Jokic finished with another playoff triple-double with 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field with 21 rebounds and 10 assists in 44 minutes against the Heat.

Jamal Murray added a triple-double for the Nuggets with a game-high 34 points on 12-of-22 shooting from the floor with 10 assists and 10 rebounds in 45 minutes.

With Murray and Jokic combining for 66 points and Christian Braun adding 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting off the bench, the Nuggets cruised to a 109-94 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Jimmy Butler tallied 28 points on 11-of-24 shooting from the floor with four assists and two rebounds in 40 minutes for the Heat, but it wasn’t enough to register a win at home in Game 3. Bam Adebayo added a double-double for the Heat with 22 points and 17 boards in 41 minutes.

With the Heat down 2-1, they will welcome the Nuggets back to Miami’s Kaseya Center on Friday for Game 4 at 5:30 p.m. PT.
