Troy Franklin ranks as one of nation’s top WRs; 4 Pac-12 WR in top 5

Troy Franklin was ranked as one of the top receivers in the country, but he has plenty of competition in the Pac-12.

Everybody in Eugene and in the Oregon Ducks football program knows how good wide receiver Troy Franklin is.

After his breakout season a year ago, where he caught 61 passes for 891 yards and nine touchdowns, Franklin is expected to follow that up with one of those seasons that could be talked about for years to come.

According to many NFL draft experts and 2024 mock drafts, Franklin should be a first-round draft pick and it would be hard to argue with that kind of talent. He’s the prototypical NFL wideout.

What’s also hard to argue with is the wide receiver rankings published by our friends at CollegeSportsWire.com.

Of the 20 receivers ranked, the Pac-12 has four of the Top 10 receivers in the country with Washington (gulp!) having two of the Top 5 wideouts in Rome Odunze (3) and Jalen McMillan (5). The offense in Seattle is going to be tough to stop.

But enough about the Dawgs.

This is what writer Patrick Conn had to say about Bo Nix’s favorite target.

Franklin led the Ducks in receptions, yards, and touchdowns a season ago. It shouldn’t be any different in the upcoming season with Bo Nix returning to Eugene. Franklin is a big-play wide receiver that should challenge for 1,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns, especially if the Ducks want to take that next step under Dan Lanning.
