We’re coming down the home stretch of the recruitment for one of the top available players in the transfer portal.
According to ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello, UC Riverside transfer guard [autotag]Zyon Pullin[/autotag] — who recently trimmed his list of potential schools to five — is now down to just two finalists: LSU and Florida.
The Tigers may be playing catchup a bit here as the news came following a weekend official visit to Gainesville. LSU will likely need to get him on campus as well, but coach Matt McMahon’s squad remains in the race for the First Team All-Big West selection.
UC Riverside transfer Zyon Pullin is down to Florida and LSU, sources told ESPN. Just visited both schools. First-team All-Big West guard averaged 18.3 points last season. Top-five available player in the portal. pic.twitter.com/QPkD1AqsSr

Landing a backcourt player of Pullin’s caliber would be a major addition to an already promising transfer class. After a disappointing first season in Baton Rouge, McMahon is undergoing another rebuild through the portal this offseason.
He’ll hope he’s able to close things out with Pullin and overcome the Gators and coach Todd Golden, who has also been very active in the transfer portal market after missing the tournament in his first season at UF.
