Nate Oats anticipates Jahvon Quinerly will return to Alabama

Nate Oats speaks on the possibility of Jahvon Quinerly returning to Tuscaloosa.

The Wednesday deadline to stay in the draft or return to college looms for one Alabama basketball star player. Jahvon Quinerly is the lone player to not yet announce his intentions.

Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney and Charles Bediako are all leaving the Crimson Tide to pursue the NBA. Mark Sears announced that he will be returning to Alabama.

Now, Alabama men’s basketball head coach Nates Oats is saying that he anticipates Quinerly to withdraw from the draft and return to Tuscaloosa, according to Nick Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News.

Quinerly, who transferred to Alabama in 2019 after one season at Villanova, averaged 8.7 points per game, 3.6 assists and nearly two rebounds per game.

Having him return brings back offensive talent and veteran leadership.

Nothing is official until Quinerly announces it himself, but Oats’ statement surely makes it seem like that’s the direction Quinerly is trending in.
