UNC Basketball recruiting targets earn praise at USA Basketball tryouts

A trio of UNC basketball recruiting targets earned some praise over the weekend.

This weekend was a big one for a group of high school basketball players in Colorado Springs for USA Basketball U-16 Team.

It started off with 39 prospects participating in the training camp and now we are down to a final 18. From there, on day four the roster will officially be completed. And some UNC basketball recruiting targets should hear their names called.

Among the players that have stood out so far this weekend are a few UNC targets. Krysten Peek of Yahoo! Sports and Rivals named three players that stood out to her after calling it the ‘one of the most talented groups in recent memory’ as she listed Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, and Koa Pete:

All three of the prospects named have offers from North Carolina, including Boozer who landed one last week.

With the Tar Heels having the No. 1 class early in the 2024 cycle, getting off to a good start again for 2025 would be huge. And UNC would love to have at least one of these prospects in their class.
