Touchdown Wire has UNC QB Drake Maye landing in NFC South

UNC football quarterback Drake Maye is projected to go in the top 5 in the latest mock draft by Touchdown Wire.

The 2024 NFL draft isn’t for another 11 months but the hype around the class continues to grow, specifically at the quarterback position.

The 2024 class is centered around Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, two players that are considered to be top 5 picks and ‘generational’ talents by some analysts. Going into the year, Williams is considered the top quarterback and should go No. 1 overall. But Maye isn’t far behind him.

Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire released his latest mock draft for 2024 and after Williams goes to Arizona at No. 1, it’s Maye heading to Tampa Bay at No 3 overall as they are a quarterback-needy team:

We also have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looking to accentuate a quarterback room that currently consists of Baker Mayfield, Kyle Trask, and John Wolford, which kinda speaks for itself.

Maye would make a lot of sense for Tampa Bay as Tom Brady retired this offseason and they are thin at the position.

Even though Tampa Bay has Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask, neither are really a long-term answer and they’d be better off getting into the Williams/Maye sweepstakes.
