Colorado gave out another offer this week, this time to a soon-to-be high school junior who’s gaining more attention on the recruiting front following a breakout sophomore year.
On Wednesday, the Buffs became the 10th program and the fifth since late March to offer Drey Garner, a class of 2025 athlete from University City High School in San Diego, California.
The four-star prospect (247Sports composite) put up big numbers in his sophomore season on both sides of the ball. As a wide receiver, he caught 36 passes for 812 yards and nine touchdowns in his first full varsity season, according to MaxPreps. That comes out to 22.6 yards per reception as he proved a big play threat. Defensively, he had three interceptions and four passes defended as a cornerback.
Garner has the potential to develop into one of the better recruits in California for his class by the time his senior season comes around, and the Buffs jumped in relatively early on the quality prospect.
