Rutgers women’s basketball offers New Jersey standout Precious Wheeler

Precious Wheeler is offered by Rutgers women’s basketball on Thursday.

Precious Wheeler, one of the top players in New Jersey, pulled in an offer from Rutgers women’s basketball on Wednesday.

The Franklin High School (Franklin, N.J.) is a class of 2025 recruit who is projected to be one of the region’s top players over the next two years. She plays her AAU basketball for the New Jersey Demons.

Last season as a sophomore for Franklin, Wheeler averaged 9.9 points per game. Defensively, she is a strong presence, with 7.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.

Earlier this week, Siena offered the promising New Jersey sophomore.

She tweeted about the offer on Wednesday, thanking Rutgers women’s basketball coach Coquese Washington for the offer:

Washington recently completed her first season at Rutgers, with plenty of promise emerging from her rebuilding project.

They finished the season 12-20 (5-13 Big Ten) and won in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament over Northwestern.
