On the same day Penn State added a quarterback commitment to its Class of 2024, the Nittany Lions extended a scholarship offer to another quarterback on its radar for the Class of 2025. Blake Hebert, from Massachusetts, announced he received a scholarship offer from Penn State’s staff on Saturday while visiting State College this weekend for an Elite 11 event.
“After a great visit and conversation with [James Franklin] I am very excited to have received an offer from Penn State University,” Hebert announced on his Twitter account on Saturday.
Hebert measures 6-3 and 205 lb and is rated as a four-star quarterback on the 247Sports composite rankings. While 247Sports rates him as a three-star player on their individual ranking system, On3 gives him a four-star boost on their rankings.
Any quarterback coming in with the Class of 2025 will certainly be of note for Penn State given the current outlook for the position in the coming years. Drew Allar will be taking over as the team’s starting quarterback in 2023. As a sophomore, Penn State knows it has at least two years with Allar as the starter, which will get them through the 2024 season. Then, if Allar does move on in 2025, Beau Pribula could be ready to take over for a season, or Class of 2023 QB Jaxon Smolik or new Class of 2024 QB Ethan Grunkemeyer could be an option.
Either way, there is a need for QB depth in the Class of 2025, and one who could be a potential starter would be essential to have in the recruiting cycle for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State also extended an offer to a four-star linebacker from Miami, Ezekiel Marcelin, on Saturday. Penn State’s Class of 2025 currently has three commitments on the board; offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews, running back Kiandrea Barker, and safety Omari Gaines.
