Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t the only major name on the team with contract extension buzz.
It has been widely presumed — and likely correctly — that star wideout Tee Higgins could get his own lucrative extension this summer, too.
Burrow hasn’t forgotten that, either. He made it clear that guys like Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase needing paid are on his mind as he is involved with his own extension talks with the Bengals.
Asked about Burrow’s comments, Higgins stressed it’s great to have a guy like Burrow on his side — and he intends to keep it that way, if possible.
“Means a lot having a leader like him looking out for guys like us,” Higgins said, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. “Obviously we talk about staying together for the long run. Hopefully, we can do that and get something negotiated to where they can keep all three of us.”
And once again, it’s impossible to ignore the good vibes from the core of the Bengals as all three get ready to enter major contract negotiations with the team that could keep them together for the long-term.
While it is little more than talk until ink starts hitting paper, it has to be reassuring for fans to keep seeing things like this.
