Pro Football Focus’ annual list naming their top 25 NFL players under 25 has been released.
For the second consecutive year, Kansas City Chiefs C Creed Humphrey has landed on the list, but this time he’s moving up 10 spots on their ranking. Last season, Humphrey’s rookie campaign, he was listed at No. 16. Now, he’s ascended the rankings to No. 6.
After showing out as a rookie in 2022, Humphrey made the Pro Bowl and Second-Team All-Pro in 2023. He allowed no sacks and just 18 total pressures this season, despite going up against some of the best defensive lines that the NFL has to offer.
Here is what PFF’s Trevor Sikkema had to say about Humphrey in his second season as a pro:
Humphrey has been as rock solid as a young offensive lineman can be. He’s recorded back-to-back elite grades of 91.8 in 2021 and 89.9 in 2022. On more than 1,400 true pass-blocking snaps played, he’s given up on one sack and just 28 total pressures across the past two years.
Humphrey will be 24 years old to start the 2023 NFL season and he shows no signs that his performance will drop off after two consecutive years of dominant play. In fact, things could get better with the new bookend tackles set to join Kansas City this season.
Humphrey is the only Chiefs player who made the list this season, despite the team having a sensational rookie class last season that helped pave the way for a Super Bowl-winning season. There’s also Kadarius Toney, who is just 24 years old.
The Chiefs have had a great history of success with players who previously made this list such as Chris Jones, Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes. Humphrey appears to be the next player to follow in their footsteps and has proven his worth in a short time.
