Alabama has one of the easiest paths to the College Football Playoff

In a recent ranking, Alabama is one of five teams with the easiest route to the College Football Playoff. Will the Tide be able to return to the CFP?

With the 2023 college football season approaching, it may be too early to try and guess the College Football Playoff picture. However, it’s not too early to see which teams have a favorable schedule, which could lead to a nearly perfect record and an eventual shot at the playoff.

Recently, Patrick Conn of College Sports Wire revealed five teams he believes have the easiest path to make the College Football Playoff.

According to Conn, the Georgia Bulldogs rank No. 1 in the easiest schedules to make the playoff. Alabama ranks No. 5.

“As far as the Tide’s 2023 schedule is concerned, they get their toughest matchups of the season at Bryant-Denny Stadium,” writes Conn. “The Texas Longhorns will be the biggest test of the nonconference slate during Week 2 while they also host the Tennessee Vols and LSU Tigers in late October and early November. The away schedule isn’t very daunting with the biggest matchup being a trip to Lexington to take on Kentucky.

“Once they get the quarterback battle settled, Saban and company can focus on winning 10+ games for the 16th consecutive season. Alabama looks to return to the CFP as well for the seventh time since 2015.”

Alabama has never missed the College Football Playoffs in consecutive seasons and I don’t believe Nick Saban plans on letting that happen in 2023.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football as the 2023 offseason progresses.
