The Arkansas women’s softball team will host the Fayetteville Regional in the NCAA Tournament.
Word came out Sunday during the NCAA Tournament selection show. Joining the top-seeded Razorbacks in the regional are No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 4 Harvard. The Ducks and Fighting Irish open the tournament at 4 p.m. Friday. Arkansas and Harvard will follow.
Arkansas’ hosting marks the third straight year the Razorbacks have done such. Each of the last two have resulted in trips to the Super Regionals, though Arkansas has yet to make a College World Series.
The Razorbacks are paired with Oklahoma State in the Stillwater Regional, meaning whichever team comes out of each will play in the Super Regional for a bid to the College World Series.
