Brooklyn Nets center Ben Simmons has been rehabbing ever since March when a nerve impingement was found in his back that prematurely ended his 2022-23 season. While he has been focused on his rehab so that he can be ready to participate in FIBA World Cup 2023 for the Australian National Team and in training camp for the Nets, Simmons has been consuming NBA playoff basketball.
Simmons, the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft out of LSU, spent a little over five seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before being traded to Brooklyn due to some issues that Simmons was having with the team. Simmons withheld his services from Philadelphia during the 2021-22 season as he decided that he didn’t want to play for the franchise anymore due to how he felt that the organization contributed to his mental health issues.
Even though Simmons has left Philadelphia, he still gets booed whenever he plays in Philadelphia. The 76ers played the Boston Celtics on Sunday in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference second-round series and lost in an embarrassing fashion, 112-88. From the looks of it, Simmons was showing himself taking in the game:
