Arkansas women’s golf in third at NCAA Regionals

Arkansas was sitting pretty at the NCAA Regionals after one round.

So far, so good for the Arkansas women’s golf team.

The Razorbacks were in third-place at the NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional through Monday after the team shot a 9-over 297. The mark placed them 12 strokes behind Michigan and one stroke behind South Florida.

Just behind Arkansas by a stroke were LSU, Texas and Duke. All three of those teams are ranked higher in the poll. The Hogs entered the Regional at No. 31.

The top five finishing teams after three rounds qualify for the NCAA Championships from May 19-24.

Julia Gregg had the best day for the Razorbacks in the first round. She shot one-over with three birdies and four bogeys to tie for 11th place. Michigan State’s Brooke Biermann led after the round at 3-under.

Round Two was set to continue Tuesday.
