Bengals sit in exclusive group in Peter King’s power rankings

Only a few other teams sit in a specific tier in Peter King’s new power rankings.

The Cincinnati Bengals continue to sit high in offseason power rankings as fans next await the start to training camps this summer.

Those Bengals check in third overall in the official offseason power rankings from Peter King:

Cincinnati. Since New Year’s Day 2022, Cincinnati has beaten Kansas City by 3, 3 and 3, and lost by 3—after being tied at 20 with 30 seconds left and punting to Patrick Mahomes. (Guess what happened.) Lucky for the Bengals, defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo didn’t get the Arizona job—he’s been as good as a schemer can be against Mahomes.

Notably, only the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 1 sit in King’s “can’t find a weakness” category. The Kansas City Chiefs at No. 2, Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills sit in the “they’ve got Super Bowl vibes” tier.

While fans might argue that the Bengals don’t have much of a very concerning weakness, it would fall under the “nitpicking” category. The Bengals have earned their respect in power rankings that usually undersold them and continuing to sit third overall speaks to the progress of the franchise — and just how open that championship window is at the moment.
