Hall of Fame QB [autotag]Steve Young[/autotag] is most known for his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers, but that wasn’t the first team he played for in the NFL.
Young joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1985 after playing for the USFL’s Los Angeles Express for two years. Young posted a video on Twitter Tuesday of him recounting his experience in Tampa Bay, noting how tough it was to play for the team with the adversity he faced.
“I learned to play in LA,” Young recounted in the video, “But I learned how to survive in Tampa Bay.”
Young recalled how tough playing for the Bucs was at the time with the lack of talent around him, saying that he was “running for his life” every Sunday with the team. He called it a “low point” in his career, but also mentioned that he was grateful that then-Bucs owner Hugh Culverhouse allowed him to pick his trade destination after his time in Tampa Bay was over.
