UNC basketball recruiting target setting more visits

A UNC basketball recruiting target is set to take visits to other programs as his recruitment picks up.

The North Carolina Tar Heels have been busy on the recruiting trail watching prospects in future classes the past two weeks as the AAU cycle is off and running.

While UNC has the No. 1 class in 2024 as it stands right now, they still have a few targets left on their recruiting board. That includes five-star guard Boogie Fland.

The White Plains, New York product is hearing from a number of programs and has already visited UNC in his recruitment. And now, he’s ready to take some more visits to progress his recruitment.

Per Rob Cassidy of Rivals, Fland is set to Alabama and also hopes to take some visits to Michigan and Kentucky:

Five-star point guard Boogie Fland has slow-played his recruitment to an extent, and has been choosy when it comes to official visits. He’s already taken one to North Carolina, and it now feels like his second visit will be to Alabama, as the Crimson Tide and the New York-based junior are zeroing in on a date.

“We’re planning it, but I don’t have the date right now,” Fland said. “I will soon. I want to go see it. They’re all up-and-coming programs. You saw what they did this tear, Then, they have Brandon Miller coming out in the draft. They took Noah Clowney, who wasn’t on any mock drafts before the season, and developed him and now he’s going to be in the NBA. It’s all up and coming.”

Fland says he also hopes to take Michigan and Kentucky visits in addition to his upcoming trip to Tuscaloosa.

The pursuit of Fland for UNC has been quiet as of late, but the Tar Heels do remain involved.

With him taking visits to other programs, things should progress a bit here and we should know more about where the Tar Heels stand.
