The 2023-24 college basketball season is still months away but we are slowly learning more and more about the North Carolina Tar Heels schedule. And on Tuesday, we received another piece according to a new report.
Per Rocco Miller, the event will take place in Atlanta, Georgia in December of 2023 to celebrate 10 years. It’s the first time the event will be played in Atlanta offering UNC fans a short trip down to the Peach State to catch the Tar Heels in action.
The official announcement will come later on in the Summer, including the opponents. Miller does note that UNC is set to play UCLA in the event due a report that included the initial contract terms.
However, last October Kentucky head coach John Calipari tweeted that the Wildcats were set to face off against UNC.
UPDATE: Inside Carolina reports UNC will indeed face off against UCLA in the event.
The CBS Sports Classic will be played in Atlanta on December 16th, per multiple sources. This will be the 10th Anniversary of the event and it will be played in Atlanta for the first time.
Matchups are:

Either way, the big news here is that the event will shift to Atlanta for at least one year, adding to the rotation that has included Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and New York City in the past.
