It was a brutal Day 1 of the 2023 NFL draft for Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis, who slid into the second round after many projected him to be a first-round pick.
In fact, Levis was so considered a first-round pick that he attended the event on Day 1, which led to a depressing video of him understandably looking sad after being passed up over the first 31 picks.
The caveat to all that is the Titans were one of the teams who were looking to trade back into the first round after making their initial pick, so it’s possible Levis would have been a first-rounder if a deal was reached.
Whatever the case may be, Levis was pumped in this video showing his reaction upon his name being called on television.

As a bonus: here’s the moment the Titans made the call to Levis telling him he was going to Tennessee.

As far as his thoughts on being passed over in the first round, Levis said it has put “a little bit of a chip” on his shoulder, but he always intended on working hard no matter where he was drafted.
“I think, regardless of where I got picked, I feel like it’s not going to change my work ethic, regardless if I went first overall or 33rd,” Levis explained. “You can’t let the circumstances dictate your preparation and the level of intensity you bring to your everyday practice.
“Definitely, a little bit of a chip, but I just know that I was going to work hard regardless of where I got picked.”
