The New Orleans Saints will sign their first undrafted free agent after the 2023 NFL draft with kicker Blake Grupe out of Notre Dame, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.
Grupe started out his career with four seasons at Arkansas State before transferring to the Fighting Irish. He was a fantastic extra point kicker, making all 49 attempts last season, with a career average of 97.2%.
He’s less consistent on field goals, with a career average of 74.3% with his best season at 86.4% in 2019. He has a career long of 50 yards.
This has been a trend over the last few years, with the Saints signing kickers to compete in camp and maybe put a little bit of pressure on Wil Lutz.
