The Colorado Buffaloes are bringing in a lot of new talent on the basketball court, with Cody Williams as the biggest of them all. However, Tristan da Silva could end up leaving for the NBA, as he entered his name and is testing out the waters.
There is a good chance he returns to Boulder for one more year, but at least he can get some feedback from NBA teams and scouts.
The Buffs star opened up on his decision to test the waters (h/t Pat Rooney of BuffZone):
“I’m just trying to better my game and get ready for these workouts. Obviously if the talent is good enough and the workouts are going well enough, I’d be more than happy to go with a team. But I’m still keeping my college option open for a reason.”
A ton of players have entered the NBA draft pool while maintaining their college eligibility, and with only 60 draft picks each year, it is difficult to hear your name called during the two-round NBA draft.
On the other hand, da Silva knows how dangerous the 2023-2024 team would be: “I’m excited for the guys we have coming in, and obviously I know what the guys can do that are already here and that are coming back from last year,” da Silva told BuffZone.
If da Silva returns for one more year, this Buffs team could be a major threat in the Pac-12.
