After using their first selection of the 2023 NFL draft on South Carolina cornerback Cam Smith, the Miami Dolphins stayed put at pick No. 84 to make their second.
With that 84th pick, the Dolphins drafted Texas A&M running back Devon Achane.
In 28 career games as an Aggie, Achane rushed for 2,376 yards and 21 touchdowns on 6.4 yards per attempt. He also added 65 receptions for 554 yards and five more scores.
It’s unclear what role he’ll have in 2023, but he could be helpful in a number of different ways in the future, as he’s just another tool for Mike McDaniel to use.
