The Los Angeles Rams traded back a couple of times in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft, but they kept the 77th overall pick. With a massive need at the edge rusher position, the Rams took Byron Young out of Tennessee to improve their pass rush.
The Rams lacked consistent pressure from their edge rushers in 2022 and Young tallied 12.5 sacks in his two seasons at Tennessee. Young attended Georgia Military College, a junior college, before choosing to attend Tennessee in his final two years of college.
Following the selection of Young, fans and analysts posted their reactions to the Rams’ pick on Twitter.
