Dane Brugler’s day two mock draft makes a ton of sense for Browns

The Athletic predicts the team will focus on the defensive line.

With the Cleveland Browns ready to get started in this year’s 2023 NFL draft tonight on night two The Atheltic’s Dane Brugler has released their mock draft of what they see happening tonight. In this mock draft, they have Cleveland focusing on finishing the rebuild and retooling of their defensive line with the selections of Gervon Dexter and Isaiah McGuire.

At pick no. 74 they have the team picking one of the more athletic interior defenders in defensive tackle Dexter. He is a player you are taking based on his high ceiling he is still a work in progress. But Dexter has a rare set of physical tools and athleticism to make an impact down the road at defensive tackle.

With the second of their two picks in the third at pick no. 98, they have the Browns taking the intriguing pass rusher McGuire from Missouri. Another great athlete that can blossom at the next level McGuire has great explosion off the line or scrimmage and better power than some think.
