When AEW announced All In for August 27 at Wembley Stadium, it raised questions about the timing of All Out, which usually takes place on Labor Day weekend in September. Having two big events so close would be bold, but it seems that’s the plan.
Appearing on A2theKWrestling, AEW senior vice president and chief legal officer Megha Parekh alluded to All Out still taking place in September — one week after All In, which would be Labor Day weekend.
“London, it’s been a while since I’ve spent any meaningful time there ‘cause of COVID, and so I’m excited just to go back. We’ll have to come back here for All Out the week after, but it should be really fun. I’m most excited to see a wrestling ring in the middle of Wembley Stadium.”
Details for All Out have not been officially confirmed, including which venue will host it. Fightful Select (subscription required but recommended) previously reported talks about the United Center in Chicago hosting the event.
Running two pay-per-views so close would mean a plethora of marquee matches and a chance for AEW’s roster to participate across both weekends. The talent pool keeps expanding, with former Ring of Honor and NXT star Roderick Strong as the most recent addition, so this could showcase more than just the main event stars.
Feud payoff matches can also take place across both weekends. Perhaps AEW does a two-part championship match or something similar for another program.
It’s also unknown if All Out will run as a PPV event. If it does, viewers could be asked to purchase both shows, potentially limiting buys for anyone unwilling to pay for consecutive weekends. AEW’s most recent PPV, Revolution cost $49.99.
The alternative is All Out airs as a Saturday television special in place of the soon-to-be-announced Collision show with PPV quality matches.
However AEW constructs All Out, it will put a stamp on a frantically busy summer for Tony Khan’s company.
